Recepsi Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
Version 0.10 · Last updated 11 October 2026
Part of the Recepsi Terms of Service.
This AUP explains what you can and can't do with Recepsi. It protects your customers, other Recepsi users, and our access to channels like WhatsApp and Telegram. If you break it, we may remove content, pause your receptionist, or suspend or close your account (Terms §13).
1. Always be honest that it's automated (mandatory, non-removable)
- Every Recepsi receptionist must clearly tell people they are chatting with an automated Super Intelligent assistant, at the start of each conversation and whenever someone asks. This disclosure is mandatory, fixed text that you cannot edit, shorten or remove. It is shown in the web widget and on the hosted chat page, and sent at the start of Telegram chats (and, later, WhatsApp chats). It is enforced by our systems, so settings or prompts can't switch it off.
- "Are you human?" If a customer asks whether they're talking to a person, the receptionist must answer honestly that it's automated. You must not set up your receptionist to say or imply it is a human, give it a fake human backstory, or deny being automated.
- Human takeover must be visible. When someone from your business takes over a conversation, the customer must be told (for example, "You're now chatting with [name] from [business]"). Don't present a human as the assistant, or the assistant as a human.
- This supports transparency rules such as the EU AI Act Article 50 (people must be told they're interacting with an AI system unless obvious; applies from 2 August 2026), Singapore's Model AI Governance Framework, and Meta's and consumer-protection rules against deception.
2. Serve your own customers only
- Each receptionist may only be used by one business to serve that business's own customers and prospects, about that business's own products, services, bookings and policies.
- You must not use Recepsi to offer a general-purpose chatbot or AI assistant to the public (for example, an open "ask me anything" bot, homework help, general advice, or a bot whose main purpose is chatting with an AI). Meta prohibits general-purpose AI assistants on the WhatsApp Business Platform (from 15 January 2026), and the same rule applies on all Recepsi channels.
- Agency or reseller use is not permitted at launch without our written agreement. You must not resell, sublicense or white-label a receptionist, or run receptionists for other businesses.
- Configure the receptionist to politely decline off-topic requests and hand over to a human where needed.
3. No spam or unwanted messages
- Only message people who contacted you first or who have given you permission. On WhatsApp you must have a valid opt-in before you message someone, and you must stop when they opt out.
- WhatsApp is a later-phase feature. When it's available, follow Meta's 24-hour customer-service window; outside it, use only Meta-approved message templates, for the purposes Meta allows.
- No bulk unsolicited messages, purchased or scraped contact lists, cold outreach blasts, chain messages, or auto-adding people to chats.
- Singapore: do not send marketing messages (including by WhatsApp, Telegram or text) to Singapore phone numbers on the Do Not Call (DNC) Registry unless you have clear and unambiguous consent in evidential form; check the DNC Registry as required; include your business identity and an opt-out; follow the Spam Control Act. Don't use dictionary attacks or address-harvesting software (prohibited under the PDPA).
- Malaysia and elsewhere: follow local direct-marketing and anti-spam rules (e.g. Malaysia PDPA s43 right to stop direct marketing).
- Telegram bots can only reply to people who started the chat — don't try to get around this.
4. Prohibited businesses and content
You must not use Recepsi for, or to promote or facilitate:
- Anything illegal where you or your customers are.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives; drugs, drug paraphernalia, or unapproved pharmaceuticals or supplements; tobacco and vaping products; alcohol, except by licensed businesses that comply with local liquor laws and Meta's policies on WhatsApp, and never promoted to anyone under 18.
- Gambling, betting, lotteries or real-money games; adult/sexual content or services; escort or dating services involving payment for companionship.
- Financial schemes: unlicensed lending, payday loans, binary options, crypto trading or token sales, multi-level marketing, get-rich-quick schemes, debt collection, or unlicensed financial, insurance or investment advice.
- Counterfeit goods, IP infringement, fake documents, fake reviews.
- Live animals, endangered species products, human body parts or fluids.
- Fraud, scams, phishing, impersonation, deceptive or misleading claims (including fake urgency or fake prices).
- Hate speech, harassment, threats, violence, terrorism or extremist content, child sexual abuse material (reported to authorities), or content that sexualises minors.
- Political campaigning, election material, or medical/health claims that are false or unapproved.
- Any business or product prohibited by Meta's WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy and Commerce Policy (if you use WhatsApp) or by Telegram's Terms.
We may refuse or remove any business we believe creates a legal, safety or reputational risk, even if not listed above.
Platform rules apply too: Telegram's terms (Telegram Messenger Inc.) and, for WhatsApp, the Meta Terms for WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited for businesses outside the US/Canada), Meta's Business Messaging Policy and Commerce Policy. WhatsApp Business Platform data must never be used to train or improve AI models.
5. Sensitive data — don't collect it unless it's lawful and necessary
Do not configure your receptionist to ask for, and tell customers not to send:
- NRIC, FIN, passport or other national ID numbers (in Singapore, NRIC collection is generally only allowed where required by law or necessary to verify identity to a high degree — see the PDPC's NRIC Advisory Guidelines; for bookings, use name + phone instead);
- payment card numbers, bank account details, passwords or one-time codes (take payments through a proper payment page, never in chat);
- health or medical information, including diagnoses or symptoms beyond what's strictly needed to book an appointment (e.g. "consultation for back pain" may be okay; detailed medical history is not);
- biometric, genetic, sexual life/orientation, religious or political beliefs, criminal records, or other special-category / sensitive personal data;
- data about children beyond what's needed for the booking, or without any parental consent the law requires.
Built-in warning: the chat widget tells customers not to share NRIC, card or health details. Don't remove or contradict it.
Businesses serving children (e.g. tuition centres, enrichment classes): you must obtain any parental consent the law requires before collecting a child's personal data, and limit collection to contact and booking details (a parent's or student's name and contact number, and the class/slot needed). Keep the receptionist to enquiries and booking requests. Don't ask for school records, NRIC/birth certificate numbers, photos or health details. You must not use Recepsi to market directly to children. Recepsi will ask you during setup whether you serve children and prompt you to confirm these steps.
Regulated healthcare is not supported at launch. The receptionist must not give clinical or medical advice or handle health records. Clinics and other healthcare providers may use Recepsi only for general enquiries and bookings, with no medical information (for example, opening hours, services offered, and booking a slot by name and phone number). For any other sensitive data listed above, you need a lawful basis, the consents the law requires, appropriate safeguards and our written approval first.
6. No misuse of the receptionist's answers
- Don't set up the receptionist to give medical, legal, financial, emergency or other professional advice, or to make guarantees you won't honour.
- Don't instruct it to make false or misleading claims about your business, prices, availability, qualifications or results.
- For emergencies, the receptionist should tell people to contact emergency services or a human — configure your hand-over rules accordingly.
7. Don't harm the Service
You must not:
- try to access other customers' data, our systems or source code without permission, or bypass security, usage limits or the automated-assistant disclosure;
- probe, scan or test our systems' vulnerabilities without our written permission (report issues to support@recepsi.com; we welcome responsible disclosure);
- send malware, overload the Service, or use bots to create accounts or chats;
- use prompt-injection, jailbreaks or other techniques to make the receptionist break these rules, reveal its instructions or other customers' data;
- scrape the Service, or use it or its outputs to build a competing product or train a competing model;
- create multiple free accounts to avoid free-plan limits.
8. Reporting and enforcement
- Report abuse to support@recepsi.com with details and screenshots.
- We may investigate, remove content, pause a receptionist, disconnect a channel, or suspend/close accounts, and we may report illegal activity to authorities. Where reasonable we'll warn you first and give you a chance to fix the issue, but we may act immediately where there's serious harm or risk to our channel accounts.
- Meta and Telegram may also take action against your number, account or bot under their own rules.
9. Changes
We may update this AUP as laws and platform policies change. We'll give notice of material changes (Terms §17), but changes needed to comply with law or platform rules (for example, a new Meta policy) may take effect immediately.
